GRUPO 9
Activities Explanation
01
I Living Labs
Living Labs are curricular units within a study program (or extracurricular units), in which, the participants face a real challenge that will be solved by teams of students. This project lasts several weeks, providing students with the opportunity to take advantage of their individual characteristics, as they come from different countries, different study programs, and offer different attributes to the resolution. The entire process will be accompanied not only by teachers but also by entrepreneurs, policymakers, citizens, and researchers.
02
Hackathon
The Hackathon consists of a 36 to 48-hour challenge, where teams will be given a problem and must come up with an innovative idea to offer a solution within the time limit. This activity promotes organizational and time management skills, while also teaching participants to define their priorities and focus on them, that is, on the problem.
03
Bootcamp
The Bootcamp is a 5-day event where students from different higher education institutions belonging to E³UDRES² come together to find solutions to a challenge. This project provides in-depth knowledge about design thinking and business models, as well as the support of specialized mentors who help develop ideas and drive them forward.
04
Rural residences
Rural residency is an opportunity to experience the challenges during a week-long stay, where you can be accommodated in regions with E³UDRES² involvement, solving new challenges related to lifestyle outside major areas. Together with a small team of students, you will work on common solutions that can be transferred to other regions with the support of local politicians, business owners, or community associations, with the aim of gaining an understanding of real places. Participating in this community will bring various benefits such as improving teamwork, problem-solving skills, and understanding of the challenges and way of life in rural areas.
05
Research Living Labs
Research Living Lab is an annual event with various themes, consisting of sets of researchers, academic communities, and stakeholders who are invited to develop the future of research based on today's needs in 9 partner institutions. It also includes two additional commission events that aim to bring together researchers and stakeholders with similar interests for discussion. This reinforces community engagement in learning more about the E³UDRES² alliance and ensuring the development of the European campus and Setúbal region as more intelligent, sustainable, and international.
